About Viakem

We have been serving the Fine Chemical Industry by providing high quality, safe and competitive contract development and manufacturing organization ( CDMO ) to global companies since early 1990´s from our site located in San Nicolas de los Garza, Nuevo Leon, originally as part of the PYOSA group.

The company was founded under Viakem in 2014 and acquired by the Global Private Equity Fund Advent International in 2016. Under current management, the company has experienced an accelerated growth journey primarily serving the agrochemical industry as well as industrial markets such as personal care, electronic material, and specialty chemicals. Our site in San Nicolás de los Garza houses our operations and corporate offices and has 18 manufacturing facilities serving CDMO needs primarily in the Americas.

Our History

Our site in San Nicolás de los Garza, NL houses our operations and corporate offices and has 18 manufacturing facilities serving CDMO needs in the Americas predominantly.

    Activities begin in the state of Nuevo Leon in the lead oxide market.
  • 1947
    We are constituted as Pigmentos y Óxidos, S.A. (PYOSA), in the pursuit of transforming, trading and industrializing oxides and pigments.
  • 1950
    We began with the production of agrochemicals.
  • 2014
    PYOSA is rebranded as VIAKEM, a company specialized in the CDMO market globally.
  • 2016
    VIAKEM is acquired by Advent International, a global private equity company, for the purpose of accelerating its growth.
