Our mission is to offer integral solutions to the chemical industry. Based on this primary objective and with a clear definition of our long-term goals, the company’s efforts are oriented towards the development, production and commercialization of the highest quality chemicals available in the market.

LOCATION

Our plant is located in the city of Monterrey, just a couple of hours away from Mexico’s border with the United States of America. The city is recognized as the country’s industrial heart and an important technological development center. The city’s location and its industrialization facilitates our logistics, having access to the primary ports in the country.

History

1940

Activities begin in the state of Nuevo Leon in the lead oxide market.

1947

We are constituted as Pigmentos y Óxidos, S.A., on the pursuit of transforming, trading and industrializing oxides and pigments.

1950

We began with the production of agrochemicals.

1954

We installed a railroad that would allow us easier shipment.

1955

We installed a second and third plant for pigments and textile dyes, as well as certified colors for food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

1961

Colores Ceramicos Mexicanos was founded in partnership with the North American company O'Homel Corporation, producer of colors and ceramic frits.

1962

The first research and development laboratory in the company was opened.

1967

PYOSA becomes a partner of the American Aniline Corporation to incorporate products for the textile industry.

1969

Colorants and solvents are developed for Pemex to give color to fats and oil.

1975

We developed indigo blue which, for many years, was only manufactured by five companies worldwide.

1977

The Facek Unit was created which was responsible for chemical products, intermediates and agrochemicals.

1989

Esmacer, S.A. de C.V. was founded as a result of a joint venture between Colores Ceramicos Mexicanos and Gruppo Colorobbia, of Italian origin.

1996

Ftalmex, S.A. Of C.V. was founded as a result of a joint venture between PYOSA and the Japanese company Toyo Ink Mfg., oriented towards the production of green and blue pigments derived from copper phthalocyanine.

2000

PYOSA established the vision "PYOSA XXI century", focused on innovation and new growth opportunities.

2014

VIAKEM is born and becomes its own company, specializing in the agrochemical industry.

2016

VIAKEM is acquired by Advent International, a global private equity company, for the purpose of accelerating its growth.

Our Quality Policy is put into practice through our Total Quality Administration System (SACaT). This system establishes guidelines governing the operation of the company’s internal processes, which are oriented towards customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

The quality system that has been implemented in VIAKEM meets the requirements specified in the world’s most widely recognized standard: ISO-9001:2008 enabling VIAKEM to offer its customers a quality warranty supported by the International Standards Organization.
